Tip 4 for Xmas advent calendar
Use a white eyeliner such as NYX jumbo pencil in milk or a cream eyeshadow (I like Mac paint pots ) as a base before putting eyeshadow on. Not only will it make the eyeshadows last longer, it will make the colours more intense and vibrant .

Number 3 advent calender tip....
Use a little of a light slightly shimmery shade on the inner corner / tear duct area of your eye to really open the eye up and make it more noticeable . You can see it here in this picture from a recent photoshoot for milliner Maggie Mowbray Millinery .

November Favourites
1 Benefit Rockateur Blush
£23.50
Smells gorgeous, blends really well this rose gold blusher gives just enough colour and subtle shimmer for a great everyday blush. I have used this on several brides recently and is just beautiful on the ski now my go to blusher .
2 Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation
£ 33.00
Rediscovered my love for this foundation recently , it offers full coverage , slightly luminous and is very rich and creamy in texture and It glides on the skin covering amazingly well . The only thing I don't like is the smell, it's very distance and resemble plasticine is the only way I can describe it.
3 Maybellene Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomergranite
£4.99
I had been toying with the idea of a cranberry colour eye on a shoot I was planning and saw this in boots and thought it would make an ideal base. It's no secret that these colour tattoo s are amazing and affordable, but I had never noticed it in this shade before .
I used it to help create this look on a recent photoshoot
What tip is behind door number 2 ....
Today's tip is to clean your makeup brushes . I know we are all guilty of leaving them for months on end before even contemplating cleaning them , but just think of the dirt, grim and bacteria that we are mixing with our makeup and putting on our faces .
Once a week I would deep clean my personal brushes like this -
Take some anti bacterial soap and pop a little in my hand or a bowl , swirl my brush in the soap and add a little warm water to create a good lather and then rinse under warm (not hot or you will loosen the glue that holds the bristle in place) . Towwel dry and then lay to dry flat with ideally the head of the brush hanging over the end of a counter to ensure bristles remain in shape.
I also like to keep a brush cleaner in the form of a spray for daily use .

Beauty tips advent calendar , Tip 1
So since the kids have woken up I have been pestered to death about opening their chocolate advent calender . It's all they have talked about for the last few days and one of the major things they look forward to each Xmas . And all that fuss for some rubbish tasting chocolate, because instead of the nice chocolate ones they go for the one with their favourite cartoon character which generally contain some cheap chocolate .
It got me to thinking of a nice idea for the lead up to Xmas for my own little advent calender for you , and instead of chocolate , something a little more valuble (possibly, I do love chocolate) in the form of an beauty tip .
Tip 1 -
This time of year my lips always end up dry and flakey , so to help combat this you can use a kids toothbrush to gently brush off the flakes .
Alternatively you could make your own DIY lip scrub with some brown sugar and some form of cooking oil , or Lush make some of the most amazing lip scrubs which taste great and you can lick of afterwords. My personal favourite is bubblegum.
Then follow with a lip balm .
